Thirty-three years ago today, on December 16, 1992 (November 23, 1992 in the lunar calendar), the Shanghai Stock Exchange quotes were networked with Reuters. On December 16th, 1992, the market computer system of Shanghai Stock Exchange, China's largest, and the comprehensive data network of Reuters were officially connected. The quotation prices of A shares and B shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange can be transmitted to the world through the network in an instant. At 12 noon, the terminal set up in the conference hall on the second floor of Shanghai International Guidu Hotel received the comprehensive data network of Reuters through one-way satellite and transmitted the market report of Shanghai Stock Exchange. Huang Xiahui, East Asia market development manager of Reuters, said that Reuters has provided 200,000 terminals to 170 cities around the world, providing financial information services including foreign exchange, bonds, stocks, futures and energy prices. The Shanghai Stock Exchange is the first exchange in China to connect to the Reuters network. In the past two years since its establishment, the Shanghai Stock Exchange has 171 members all over the country, 38 kinds of listed stocks, and a listed share capital of 4.436 billion yuan.
