After the meeting, he went to Hankou, organized a self-reliant army, served as the supervisor of the armies, and planned to revolt on August 9th. The uprising was postponed due to Kang Youwei's remittance. He was arrested by Zhang Zhidong on the evening of August 21st and killed the next day.
