115 years ago today, on November 12th, 1910 (October 11th, 1910 in the lunar calendar), mathematician Hua Luogeng was born. Hua Luogeng, Chinese mathematician, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. Born on November 12, 1910 in Jintan, Jiangsu Province. He is a self-taught mathematician. He graduated from junior high school in Jintan Middle School in 1924 and studied himself hard. He taught at Tsinghua University in 1930. In 1930, he published the paper "Reasons why Su Jiaju's solution to quintic equations of algebra cannot be established" in Shanghai Science magazine. He was recommended by Professor Xiong Qinglai as a teaching assistant and was soon promoted to lecturer. In 1936, he went to Cambridge University in England to study mathematics. In 1938, he returned to China as a professor in The National SouthWest Associated University. He went to the United States in 1946 and served as a professor at Princeton University and Illinois University successively. After returning to China in 1950, he served as Professor Tsinghua University, Director of Institute of Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has made outstanding contributions to algebra, matrix geometry, multiple complex functions, number theory, etc. Since 1970, the overall planning method and optimization method have been popularized in more than 100 cities in more than 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. His book Blending Analysis on Typical Domains won the first national prize, and his works such as Theory of Piled Prime Numbers, Introduction to Mathematics, Typical Groups, Optimization and the first volume of Introduction to Advanced Mathematics are all important treasure houses of mathematics. On June 12, 1985, Hua Luogeng died in Tokyo.
