The first fax photo was taken on November 8, 1907.
118 years ago today, on November 8th, 1907 (October 3rd, 1907 in the lunar calendar), the first facsimile photo was born. In 1907, Professor Arthur Cohen successfully manufactured a fax telegram that could transmit images of photographs to a distance. Illustrated in Paris and Der Spiegel in London immediately bought patents for faxed pictures, and immediately sent them to use them. On November 8, 1907, the first photograph was faxed from Paris to London. This 55X75 cm photo of King Edward VII of England, faxed by submarine cable, took about 12 minutes, and was immediately enlarged and published the next day. Since then, the two newspapers have often exchanged photos in this way. (The first facsimile photograph is of King Edward VII of England)
