Forty-five years ago today, on July 14th, 1980 (June 3rd, 1980 in the lunar calendar), the United Nations World Conference on Women's Decade opened. On July 14th, 1980, the United Nations World Conference on the Decade of Women opened in Copenhagen, Denmark. Kang Keqing, President of the All-China Women's Federation, led a delegation to attend the conference, sponsored and supported the activities of the United Nations Decade of Women with the theme of "equality, development and peace", and signed the Convention on the Elimination of Any Form of Discrimination against Women on the 17th.
