46 years ago today, on September 14th, 1979 (July 23rd, 1979 in the lunar calendar), Ma Yinchu, an advocate of family planning, was completely rehabilitated. On September 14, 1979, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China approved the decision of Peking University Party Committee to completely rehabilitate Ma Yinchu and restore his reputation. On the 15th, Ma Yinchu was appointed honorary president of Peking University. Mr. Ma Yinchu put forward the "New Population Theory" in 1957, the main contents of which are: China should control population growth, control births and implement family planning, the most important of which is universal contraception. Mr. Ma Yinchu was labeled as "Malthusism" for this theory and was unreasonably criticized. History punishes. China's population is seriously out of control, and "one wrong person is approved, and it will increase by hundreds of millions". The rehabilitation of Mr. Ma Yinchu shows that China has begun to correct serious mistakes in population policy, and the basic national policy of "family planning and controlling population growth" has begun to take shape.
