Today, eighty years ago, on June 30, 1945 (Lunar Calendar, May 21, 1945), the Fukuoka tragedy occurred. During the Japanese War, Japanese invaders carried a large number of captured Chinese soldiers and captured youths to Japan for hard work. On June 30, 1945, over 900 Chinese hardworkers in the Fukuoka mine in Akita County, Japan, resigned for abuse and were brutally suppressed by the Japanese authorities. On April 10, 1999, the survivors of the Fukuoka tragedy met. The two elderly men walked together to reconsider historical justice. They shrugged their hands and gave each other strong support. On June 30, the "comfort ceremony" was held in Fukuoka, Japan.
