Picture: Kim Campbell On June 25, 1993, Kim Campbell was elected leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, and became the first female prime minister of Canada, sworn in, replacing the less popular Brian Maroni, becoming the first female prime minister in Canadian history. The ruling Progressive Conservative Party selected 46-year-old Campbell as prime minister was not surprising because she spoke rancidly, intelligently and charmingly, and had always been an outstanding person. Campbell's childhood teacher, Ali Fidel, his father was a Vancouver City Attorney, his mother was an artist.
