In 1925, Chuck took part in the Northern War, the Nanchang uprising, the struggle and the Long March, serving as commander, captain, commander, commander, commander, commander of the Red Six Army, commander-in-chief of the Red Two Army and other positions. During the warfare period served as vice commander of the 120 division of the Eighth Road Army, commander-in-chief of the Fourth Field Army, commander-in-chief of the Liberation War, commander-in-chief of the Liaoning Army District, commander-in-chief of the Chinese Northern Army District, vice commander-in-chief of the Chinese Northern Army Political University, commander-in-chief of the Fourth Field Army.

After the liberation of the whole country, he served as Minister of Military Training, Minister of Training Director, Deputy Minister of National Defense, President of Military and Political University, Dean and Political Commissar of Military Academy. He was the vice chairman of the 4th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a member of the 8th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), an alternate member of the 10th Central Committee, a member of the 11th Central Committee and a member of the Standing Committee of the 12th Central Advisory Committee. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of general, the first-class August 1st Medal, the first-class Independence and Freedom Medal, and the first-class Liberation Medal.

Member of the First, Second and Third National Defense Committee, Vice-President of the Fifth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Eleventh Alternative Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
