The Asian Olympic Council was established on November 26, 1981.
On November 26, 1981, the Asian Olympic Council, the Asian Sports Council, announced its establishment, referred to as the “AOI Council”. Its predecessor was the Asian Games Federation, established in New Delhi in 1949.The Asian Olympic Council is headquartered in Kuwait.The Olympic Council is a bridge between the International Olympic Committee and the Asian Olympic Committee and is responsible for the organization of Asian intercontinental sports competitions, the main activity of which is to host an Asian Games every four years.There are 36 members of the Association, the highest authority is the Council, the Executive Bureau, responsible for handling and enforcing the resolutions of the Congress of Representatives.
