Today, 71 years ago, on July 22, 1954 (Lunar Calendar, June 23, 1954), the first destroyer group of the Chinese Navy was formed. On July 22, 1954, the Navy Command issued an order to establish a destroyer group based on the purchase of two Soviet Gorky-class destroyer ships. On October 25, 1954, the first destroyer group of the Navy was established in Qingdao, and the two destroyer ships were named "Saddle Mountain" and "Push" respectively. On June 18, 1955, the second batch of two destroyer ships entered the list, named "Long Spring" and "Taara".
