Juan Peron is in power again after 18 years, this time with his wife Isabel On September 23, 1973, former Argentine President Peron made an unprecedented comeback and was re-elected as the president of Argentina. He was ousted in a military coup in 1955 and ruled Argentina again 28 years later. Mrs Peron ran for vice president at the same time as her husband as the candidate of the Justice Liberation Front Party. Isabel became the first female vice president in Latin American history.
