On July 3, 1844, the United States signed the China-Nanjing Treaty. On July 3, 1844, the U.S. Ambassador Consensus and General Xi Jinping signed the China-Nanjing Treaty in the vicinity of Xi'an near Macao. This was the first unequal treaty of the United States to invade China. Following the Nanjing Treaty, the United States broke the contents of the three U.S. Navy vessels to Macau in February 1844, forcing the U.S. to sign the China-Nanjing Treaty, a total of 34 articles. Following the Nanjing Treaty, the U.S. not only acquired all the special rights of the British Navy in the Nanjing Treaty and its annexes, but also expanded the scope of consular jurisdiction and diplomatic
