On October 13, 1994, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that at least thousands of people in the U.S. have been poisoned by ice cream produced by a private company so far, but no deaths have occurred. A spokesman for the U.S. Centers said that people have experienced nausea, vomiting, acute abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever and headaches after eating ice cream containing a Salmonella virus.
