At 7 a.m. on June 30, 1908, over Central Siberia, a bright fireball swept across the sky from southeast to northwest. A large meteor weighing hundreds of thousands of tons landed north of the Tunguska River. It has been seen 1500 kilometers from the Yenisei River to the Lena River. The explosion can be heard at a diameter of 2000 kilometers. Seismic waves have been recorded by seismographs around the world.

In the first few nights of the meteor landing, the sky was bright, and you could read newspapers without lighting a lamp in the Caucasus. Only 10 giant meteorites like Tunguska have been discovered so far, and the two largest of them have landed in Siberia.
