Breaking-News >> TodayHistory American anthropologist Ruth Benedict was born on June 5, 1887
138 years ago today, June 5, 1887 (April 14, 1887, the lunar calendar), American anthropologist Ruth Benedict was born. Ruth Benedict (originally named Fulton; June 5, 1887-September 17, 1948) was an American anthropologist. In the early 20th century, a small number of female scholars, influenced by Franz Boas, and Edward Sapir proposed the earliest Cultural Configuration, believing that culture, like individuals, has different types and characteristics. Benedict studied English literature in his early years, so his works are written wonderfully, and are good at writing poems and making delicate descriptions. Among her works,"Patterns of Culture" and "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword" are the most famous. Although the importance of her exposition has been replaced by other theories, the issues and concerns raised in her works are still valued and paid attention to by anthropology, history and other disciplines. Comments: Chrysanthemum and Dao are almost popular reading books now. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1llx.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.27-14:21] 访问:80
