On December 16, 1598, the Battle of Luliang broke out. On the same day, the Japanese army Shimazu Yoshihiro dispatched more than 500 warships (20,000 people in total) to rescue the besieged Konishi Governor's headquarters in the Shuntian area. It was intercepted by the China-North Korea Joint Navy led by Chen Lin and Li Shunchen (65 China warships and 85 North Korean warships, totaling 15600 people). In the battle, North Korean famous Li Shunchen and China general Deng Zilong were killed in battle. Under the joint siege of Chinese and North Korean warships, more than 300 Japanese troops were annihilated (200 were sunk, more than 100 were captured, and more than 10,000 people were killed). About 670 Chinese and North Korean troops were killed (1 Ming warship was sunk). Shimazu Yoshihiro led the remaining ships to retreat. The Japanese army's troops took advantage of the fighting between the two armies and fled by boat. After the Battle of Luliang, all remaining Japanese troops on the Korean Peninsula were eliminated, and Japan's war of invasion of Korea declared a complete failure. Comment: If the Qing Dynasty in later generations had the courage and courage of the Ming Dynasty, it would never have suffered such tragedy in modern history. The backwardness of the Manchu people determined all this.
