On this day, 84 years ago, May 27, 1941 (May 2, 1941 in the lunar calendar), President Roosevelt issued an urgent warning to the whole country. On the evening of May 27, 1941, President Roosevelt warned the country: "There is an emergency of great severity for the nation, almost as close as a declaration of war is imminent."
