Zhu Wen proclaimed himself emperor and established the Later Liang Dynasty

Zhu Wen (852- 9l2), a native of Dangshan, Songzhou, participated in the Huangchao Uprising in 877 and served as the defense envoy of Tongzhou during the "Da Qi" regime.

In 882, he defected and surrendered to the Tang Dynasty. He was given the name Quan Zhong and served as deputy envoy of Hezhong's camp recruitment and discussion. The following year, he served as Xuanwu Jiedushi and stationed in Muzhou. Using this as a base, he gradually annexed neighboring forces and expanded his area of control, forcing Hebei military towns to surrender, becoming the largest warlord in the Central Plains.

In 901, he was granted the title of King of Liang and fought a long-term war with Li Keyong and his son. At this time, the struggle between court officials and eunuchs continued in the Tang Dynasty. Eunuch Han Quanhui supported Emperor Zhaozong of the Tang Dynasty to move to Fengxiang and rely on Jiedushi Li Maozhen.

In 903, Prime Minister Cui Yin and Zhu Quanzhong colluded with each other to attack Fengxiang, defeat Li Maozhen, eliminate all officials, control the government, and return the capital to Chang 'an.

In 904, Zhu Quanzhong killed Cui Yin again and forced Zhao Zong to move his capital to Luoyang. In August of the same year, Zhao Zong was killed and 13-year-old Li Wei was made emperor.

In 905, Zhu Quanzhong killed more than 30 people including Prime Minister Pei Shu.

On August 1, 907 (April 18, the fourth year of Tianyou of the Tang Dynasty), Li Wei was deposed and established himself as emperor. He changed his name to Huang, and established the capital Bianliang. The country was called Liang, which was the Later Liang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties (907-923).
