On this day, 31 years ago, on November 11, 1994 (October 9, 1994, the first Cao Yu Drama and Literature Award was awarded in Beijing. On November 11, 1994, the first Cao Yu Drama Literature Award, named after the drama master Cao Yu, was awarded at the Great Hall of the People. The predecessor of the Cao Yu Drama and Literature Award was the biennial National Outstanding Script Award sponsored by the China Dramatists Association. It has been held for 6 times. Ten other scripts were nominated for awards.
