On this day, 98 years ago, November 13, 1927 (October 20, 1927 in the lunar calendar), the Huangma Uprising. On November 13, 1927, the Hudong Special Committee of the Communist Party of China led the people of Huang 'an and Macheng counties to launch the famous Huangma Uprising, taking the lead in raising the red flag of armed struggle in the Dabie Mountains. After the "April 12" counter-revolutionary coup, the Party's "August 7th Conference" determined the policy of implementing agrarian revolution and armed struggle. In accordance with the spirit of the "August 7th Conference", the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China established the Eastern Hubei Special Committee to strengthen its leadership over the armed struggle of farmers in the Huang 'an and Macheng areas. In early November 1927, the Eastern Hubei Special Committee held a meeting of party and group activists in Huang 'an and Macheng counties and decided to establish an uprising headquarters. Pan Zhongru and Wu Guanghao were appointed as chief and deputy commanders, and Dai Kamin was the party representative. The meeting also called for stepping up the training of the Peasant Self-Defense Forces and actively carrying out the struggle against local tyrants and evil gentry. On November 13, the Eastern Hubei Special Committee held an emergency meeting and decided to hold an armed uprising with the peasant self-defense forces of Huang 'an and Macheng counties as the backbone to seize Huang' an County. The headquarters decided to first form a 70-member commando team, led by Wu Guanghao, and sneak into the city disguised to prepare to cooperate with the outside. At 10 o'clock that night, Pan Zhongru and Dai Kamin led the Peasant Self-Defense Corps and the Peasant Volunteer Corps to Huang 'an County. Thousands of people armed with bird blasters, harpoons and other primitive weapons joined the uprising. The uprising began at 2 a.m. on the 14th. After bloody battles, the peasant volunteers eliminated nearly 200 enemies, captured Huang 'an County, destroyed the puppet county government, and captured the puppet county magistrate alive. The Kuomintang authorities hurriedly mobilized troops to attack Huang An. On December 5, the enemy launched a sudden attack with heavy troops. Huang Ancheng fell and many cadres and soldiers died heroically. In order to cover his comrades to break through, Pan Zhongru, the commander-in-chief of the Eastern Hubei Army, broke into the city six times and escorted his comrades to break through the city gates and break through the siege seven times, shedding the last drop of blood for the revolution. After Dai Kamin and Wu Guanghao broke through, they led their team to Huangpi and launched guerrilla warfare in Mulan Mountain, the hometown of the female hero Hua Mulan, laying a preliminary foundation for the establishment of the Hubei-Henan-Anhui revolutionary base. The Juma Uprising announced the establishment of the Huang An County Farmers Government, the first worker-peasant democratic regime in Huang 'an history. The Peasant Self-Defense Army was reorganized into the Eastern Hubei Army of the China Workers and Peasants Revolutionary Army, becoming the starting point for the founding of the Fourth Front Army of the China Workers and Peasants Red Army.
