Yin Liangbi

On November 1, 1894, Yin Liangbi, a forestry scientist, forestry educator, and one of the pioneers of modern forestry in China, was born.

Yin Liangbi (1894-1982) lived in Shitang Town, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, and worked in agriculture for generations. In terms of teaching ideology, we are not bound by tradition, and adopt various methods based on national conditions to cultivate forestry science and technology talents at different levels; adhere to the policy of "to run forestry education well, we must first run forest farms well" while learning and doing. In addition to teaching, he conducts research on forest chemistry, closely integrates it with production, and is committed to the manufacturing and cultivation of wood carbonization, fiber, essential oils, oils, medicinal materials and edible fungi and other products. In terms of wood carbonization, he invented a double barrier charcoal kiln and a method of firing and grinding charcoal.

Yin Liangbi joined the Jiusan Society in 1957 and served as the group leader directly under the Beijing Forestry Academy of the Jiusan Society.

Yin Liangbi's life was modest and prudent, open-minded, upright and approachable. He did not seek fame or profit. He was full of enthusiasm for others, loyal to his cause, highly respected, and deeply respected. He was deeply respected and trusted by people. In 1959, he was named an advanced worker of the Beijing Forestry Academy. After 1956, he was successively elected as a representative of the Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth People's Congresses of Haidian District, Beijing City. During the "Cultural Revolution", he suffered severe shocks and persecution, suffered severe physical and mental damage, and personally experienced the hardships of moving for ten years. However, he always believed in the Communist Party and socialism. After the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in December 1978, he became more confident in the cause of the country. He can take into account the overall situation and ignore personal gains and losses. During his illness, he still cared about my country's modernization drive, persisted in studying with strong perseverance, and discussed state affairs with his relatives and friends. In 1980, in response to problems existing in my country's forestry construction, he jointly wrote a letter to the Central Committee and put forward valuable suggestions. On September 5, 1982, although he was bedridden, he still insisted on writing the four characters "Greening the Motherland" to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the founding of China Forestry Society, leaving his lifelong wish to future generations. Before his death, he was nostalgic for the place he had fought for all his life-the cradle of cultivating forestry talents. He asked: "After my death, please bury my ashes in Miaofengshan Forest Farm."¡»

At 21:00 on December 16, 1982, Yin Liangbi passed away in Beijing at the age of 88.
