Indian leader Anglo-Gandhi On June 26, 1975, the Allahabad City High Court, the hometown court of Indian Prime Minister Anglo-Gandhi, declared her election as a member invalid on the grounds of fraud in the election. She will not be allowed to hold any public office for six years, and although her position remains in accordance with the law, many observers believe she will resign. Mrs. Gandhi was charged with illegally retaining public office while serving as an organizer of a campaign in the 1971 election. Her opponent, Socialist Party Raj Narain, filed a lawsuit with the court, which led to the court making the above decision.
