Chairman Zhu De passed away on July 6, 1976

He was 90 years old. Zhu De was born on December 1, 1886 in a peasant family in Lijiawan, Ma 'anshan Chang, Yilong County, Sichuan Province. In the winter of 1909, he joined the League and participated in the Revolution of 1911. In September 1922, he went to Germany to study and joined the Communist Party of China in November. In August 1927, he participated in leading the Nanchang Uprising, and later led his troops to Jinggangshan to join forces with Mao Zedong. At the beginning of 1929, he and Mao Zedong led the main force of the Fourth Red Army to fight in southern Jiangxi and western Fujian. Participated in commanding all counter-"encirclement and suppression" and participated in the Long March. At the Compliance Conference, we supported the correct line represented by Mao Zedong. During the Long March, Zhang Guotao's separatist activities were resolutely fought. From August 1937, he served as Vice Chairman of the Revolutionary Military Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Commander-in-Chief of the Eighth Route Army. During the War of Liberation, he served as Commander-in-Chief of the People's Liberation Army of China. Participated in the organization and command of the three major battles of Liaoshen, Huaihai, and Pingjin, as well as the Battle of Crossing the River. After the founding of New China, Zhu De served as Vice Chairman of the Central People's Government and Vice Chairman of the People's Revolutionary Military Commission, and continued to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the People's Liberation Army of China. In September 1954, he served as Vice Chairman of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of the National Defense Commission, and Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission. In 1955, he was awarded the rank of Marshal of the People's Republic of China. He was elected as alternate member of the Central Committee and secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee at the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. At the Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China, he was elected as member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee. He was elected chairman of the Standing Committee at the Second, Third and Fourth National People's Congresses.
