On this day, 26 years ago, on September 25, 1999 (August 16, 1999, the lunar calendar), Ho Hau Wah appointed members of the Executive Council of the Macao SAR. On September 25, 1999, Edmund Ho, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, appointed members of the Executive Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region. There are a total of 10 members of the Executive Council of the SAR appointed by Ho Hau Wah, who are Wu Rongke, Ma Youli, Tang Zhijian, Leung Ching Ting, Chui Sai On, Chen Limin, Zhang Guohua, Liao Zeyun, Owen Long and Tan Boyuan. According to Article 57 of the Macao Basic Law, members of the Executive Council of the SAR shall be appointed by the Chief Executive from among principal government officials, members of the Legislative Council and public figures. Their appointment and removal shall be decided by the Chief Executive. The number of members ranges from 7 to 11 and are China citizens who are permanent residents of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
