63 years ago today, September 21, 1962 (August 23, 1962 in the lunar calendar), Igor Stravinsky returned to the Soviet Union. After a 48-year absence from the Soviet Union, Igor Stravinsky has returned to his homeland. The Soviet government has invited him to conduct two concerts in Moscow. He will conduct the second part of the "Orpheus" ballet program. The first movement is "The Style of Spring". Stravinsky published these two pieces in 1947 and 1913 respectively. Stravinsky (1882.06.17-1971.04.06) was born in Oraninbaum, near St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1910, he became famous for composing the music of the ballet "Firebird". He moved to Switzerland in 1914, moved to the United States in 1940, and became an American citizen in 1945.
