On August 23, 2001 (July 5, 2001 in the lunar calendar), my country's self-developed warship visited the European continent for the first time. On August 23, 2001, the naval fleet of the People's Liberation Army of China, consisting of the guided missile destroyer "Shenzhen" designed and manufactured by China and the comprehensive supply ship "Fengcang", set sail from Wusong Military Port in Shanghai for an 86-day friendly visit to Germany, Britain, France and Italy. This is the first visit of a modern warship designed and manufactured by China to the European continent. It has set a record for a naval fleet to visit the largest number of oceans, straits and coastal countries in one time, marking that the People's Navy's footprints have spread across the world's three major oceans and five continents. This is the commander of the visiting formation commanding the formation sailing on the "Shenzhen" ship. Only when a country is strong can it have dignity in the world
