On July 17, 1909, martial arts master Huo Yuanjia founded the first folk martial arts group in modern China-the Jingwu Gymnastics Club in Shanghai. The purpose of the Jingwu Gymnastics Club is to promote martial arts, study sports, and create strong and determined people.
