On this day, 120 years ago, on December 8, 1905 (November 12, 1905, the lunar calendar), Chen Tianhua crossed the sea and committed suicide. In April of the same year, he wrote bloody letters to protest against Russia's occupation of the three northeastern provinces of China, and joined the Russian Rejection Volunteer Corps organized by China students studying in Japan, writing books such as "Meng Turn Back" and "Warning Bell to the World". After returning to China in 1904, he founded the Huaxing Association in Changsha with Huang Xing and Song Jiaoren, preparing to launch an armed uprising in Hunan and escape to Japan. In August 1905, he participated in the establishment of the China Alliance and served as a writer of the official newspaper "Min Bao". After committing suicide, he left more than 10,000 words in the "Death Letter" to encourage people to "go is not a good thing, and talk about patriotism together." There is "Collection of Chen Tianhua". On July 11, 1906, Changsha students and tens of thousands of people from all walks of life held a public funeral for Chen Tianhua.
