On July 16, 2008, the Beijing-Tianjin Expressway, the second direct expressway between Beijing and Tianjin, was officially completed and opened to traffic. The Beijing-Tianjin Expressway starts from the Chemical Industry Bridge on the Fifth Ring Road in Beijing City and ends at Dongjiang Port in Tianjin City. It has a total length of 147 kilometers.
