On this day, 86 years ago, on May 24, 1939 (April 6, 1939, the lunar calendar), Ma Benzhai formed the Jizhong Hui Detachment. Ma Benzhai, captain of the Hui People Detachment who was so powerful in Jizhong, was established in Dingxian County and Wuji in May 1939. After the "Lugouqiao" Incident, members of the Communist Party of China Xiao Bingjun and Liu Wenzheng organized an anti-Japanese armed "Hui Cadre Teaching Team" in Ding County. The Hui Ma Benzhai organized the "Hui Volunteer Team" in Xian County and established contact with the Communist Party of China organization in central Hebei. In the spring of 1938, Ma Benzhai led his troops to Hejian to join the third column of the Eighth Route Army led by Lu Zhengcao.
