On this day, 88 years ago, on September 6, 1937 (August 2, 1937 in the lunar calendar), the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government was established. Lin Boqu, Chairman of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government On September 6, 1937, the Communist Party of China renamed the Northern Shaanxi Soviet Revolutionary Base Area to the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government, with Lin Boqu as chairman. The Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region includes part of the junction of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia provinces, with a total of 23 counties with a population of about 1.5 million. Most of the border area is the Loess Plateau, but the land is relatively fertile and suitable for the development of agriculture and animal husbandry. It is rich in grain, cotton and salt, and has mineral resources such as oil, coal, and iron.
