More than 100 local armed police, People's Liberation Army officers and soldiers and public security police rushed to Touzhaigou Village overnight to dig out some of the people buried in the mud and mud piles. A working group headed by Zhao Tingguang, Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, and Xie Heming, Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Region, rushed to the disaster-stricken site day and night to carry out disaster relief work together with cadres from Zhaotong Prefecture who had arrived there earlier.
