Graduated from the Physics Department of Peking University in 1962. Later, he was admitted as a postgraduate student recruited by optical scientist Wang Daheng, and went to the Changchun Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, China Academy of Sciences, where he began to engage in scientific research. In 1965, he and his research team established the first optical transfer function measurement device in China. Later, he designed the color separation characteristics and coating requirements of China's first electronic color separator, and successively solved many key technical problems in the development of domestic lenses. His book "On Spectral Transmittance of Photographic Objective" has important guiding significance for China's film and television industry. Jiang Zhuying was strict with self-denial, helpful, and hardworking. Eventually, he died of illness due to excessive work. According to his performance and last wishes during his lifetime, he was posthumously regarded as a member of the Communist Party of China and was posthumously awarded the title of Model Communist Party Member.
