On December 2, 2010 (October 27, 2010 in the lunar calendar), Chen Shui-bian was sent to prison to serve his sentence. As for the recovery of proceeds of crime, Taiwan prosecutors have withheld more than US$9.27 million during the investigation and trial, which will be confiscated, and jointly recovered proceeds of crime that were not withheld totaling more than US$2.7 million; for the fine, Taiwan's "Supreme Court" ruled that Chen Shui-bian and his wife must be fined a total of more than NT$300 million. Taiwan prosecutors said that the executive prosecutor will check the property status of Chen Shui-bian and his wife, ask the two people if they are willing to voluntarily pay the relevant money, and then conduct confiscation procedures. It is understood that the special investigation team has currently seized Chen Shui-bian's family property totaling more than 1.3 billion NT dollars.
