On June 24, 1994 (the 16th fifth month of the lunar calendar), the first volume of "Siku Quanshu Collection Series" was published. The first volume of the "Sikuquanshu Collection Series", known as "a major event in Chinese culture", was launched by Peking University Press on June 24, 1994, and finally began the century-old wish of generations of scholars. "Siku Quanshu" is the largest series of books in China history compiled during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It contains a total of 3461 classics and 79309 volumes from the past dynasties. It is called the Collection of Traditional Culture of China in the academic community. However,"Siku Quanshu" is not "complete". A large number of classics of the past dynasties that did not meet the needs and value standards of the Qing Dynasty have been abandoned. There are 6793 kinds and 93551 volumes listed as the contents. After 300 years of natural and man-made disasters, the books stored in the contents have been seriously lost. There are more than 4000 kinds and more than 60,000 volumes, and they are hidden in more than 200 libraries across the country. More than 30% have become isolated copies. With the approval of the State Council's Ancient Books Compilation and Publication Planning Group, the compilation of the "Sikuquanshu Collection Series" officially began on May 15, 1997. After just 40 days of hard work, the first volume was published and distributed. This series has a total of 1200 volumes and is planned to be published in four batches: the Economic Department will be published in 1994, the History Department will be published in 1995, the Sub-Department will be published in 1996, and the Collection Department will be published in 1997.
