Pietro Mascagni (1863.12.7 Livorno, Italy-1945.8.2 Rome)

Potro Mascani, Italian composer. His composing career began early. He studied under A. Ponchielli (1834 - 1886) at the Conservatory of Music in Milan and was Puccini's roommate, but was later expelled. Later, he served as principal of the Cheriniola City Music School. He also served as a band conductor and gained a reputation. In 1890, a realistic new opera style was created with its one-act opera "The Country Knight", which has been very popular since its premiere, making it the longest-lasting work. He also wrote "Friend Fritz"(1891),"Iris"(1899), and "Little Marat"(1921). There are also works on films, churches and indoor symphony music.
