On June 4, 1937 (the 26th of the fourth lunar month), Kim Il Sung attacked the Japanese base point of Futenbao at night, known in history as the Battle of Futenbao. Battle of Putian Fort Victory Memorial Tower Putian Fort is located on the Yalu River 21 kilometers northeast of Huishan City, the capital of North Korea's Two Rivers Road, facing Changbai County, Jilin Province, China across the river. 1937 Kim Il-sung led the Communist Party's anti-Japanese troops to launch an anti-Japanese armed struggle in the Changbai Mountains. On June 4, they attacked the Japanese army at Putenbao at night and won. At the time of the incident, there were 284 North Koreans, 26 Japanese, and 2 "Manchurian" households. Anti-Japanese troops burned down the local post office, seized a total of 6 guns, long and short, and killed 2 Japanese people (Japanese police daughter and Japanese restaurant owner Koshiro Hane).
