June 22, 1848 The June Uprising broke out in France
On this day, 177 years ago, June 22, 1848 (May 22, 1848, the French June Uprising broke out. In the French February Revolution of 1848, the people of Paris overthrew the "July Dynasty", but the bourgeoisie stole the fruits of the revolution and established the Second French Republic. The provisional government established a "national factory" to accommodate unemployed workers and drive them to do labor such as paving roads and earth-digging, paying only low wages. It preached to the workers that this was socialism. It also increased taxes on farmers on the pretext of supporting the workers of the "national factory" and instigated the relationship between farmers and workers. At the same time, the provisional government organized special forces among rogue proletarians to deal with Paris workers. After these plots were planned, the interim government blatantly ordered the dissolution of the "national factory." On June 22, angry "National Factory" workers marched and demonstrated, and the June uprising broke out. Starting from the 23rd, fierce street fighting lasted for four days. In the end, government troops and special forces, six times the number of uprising workers, suppressed the uprising. Although the French June Revolutionary Uprising failed, it will go down in history forever. Marx called it the first great battle between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie.
