On October 15, 1925, Sun Chuanfang, the patrol envoy of Fujian and Zhejiang, fought without announcing it and launched a fierce attack on the Feng army. The Zhejiang-Feng War broke out. After the end of the Second Zhifeng War in November 1924, Feng army general Zhang Zongchang entered Shanghai. On February 3, Sun Chuanfang, who was appointed as the supervisor of Zhejiang, and Feng Jun signed a peace treaty between Jiangsu and Zhejiang, agreeing that no troops would be stationed in Shanghai. In May, Sun Chuanfang withdrew his troops from Shanghai. However, the Fengjun did not withdraw troops in accordance with the agreement. On August 29, at the request of Zhang Zuolin, Duan Qirui appointed Yang Yuting, a general of the Feng Dynasty, as the supervisor of Jiangsu, and Jiang Deng was elected as the supervisor of Anhui.
