49 years ago today, on December 7, 1976 (October 17, 1976 in the lunar calendar), composer Zheng Lvcheng passed away. "Forward, forward, forward, our team faces the sun and steps on the land of the motherland..." This is the march that Zheng Lucheng wrote for the Eighth Route Army when he was 21. From the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression to the War of Liberation, thousands of soldiers sang This song charged forward and ushered in the dawn of New China. Zheng Lvcheng is an outstanding composer in our country and a famous fighter of internationalism. In 1918, he was born into a poor revolutionary family in South Jeolla Province, southern Korea. His father was a patriot, and his three brothers sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary causes of North Korea and China. In 1933, Zheng Lucheng, who was only 15 years old, came to China with a group of progressive Korean youth. While engaging in revolutionary activities on Huning Road, he used his spare time to study music. In October 1937, 19-year-old Zheng Lucheng rushed to Yan 'an with enthusiasm and joined the Communist Party of China there in January 1939. One evening, Zheng Lucheng finished attending a mass meeting and stood on the hillside. He saw his comrades basking in the afterglow of the sunset and rushing to their posts in groups; The anti-Japanese soldiers who were training shouted loud slogans, powerful and majestic, and singing sounded all over the city... This majestic and magnificent picture is deeply imprinted in Zheng Lucheng's heart. The famous "Ode to Yan 'an" matured in his chest in this way. He asked Moyer to write the lyrics and quickly composed the music. Later, at a party attended by Mao Zedong, Zheng Lucheng personally sang the song. "Ah! Yan 'an, you majestic and majestic ancient city, blood is surging in your chest..." "Ode to Yan 'an" expresses the sincere feelings of millions of revolutionary people who yearn for Yan' an and love Yan 'an. Like wings, this song quickly flew from Yan 'an to the front, from the Jiefang District to the Kuomintang-ruled area, and even overseas. At that time, many revolutionaries sang this song, expressing their longing for the anti-Japanese base areas led by Mao Zedong; many young people in the Kuomintang-ruled areas sang this song, overcoming obstacles and dangers, rushing to Yan 'an, and joining the torrent of revolution. In Yan 'an, wherever there is a crowd, there will be the song of "Ode to Yan' an". Many people know Zheng Lvcheng's name from listening to his song "Ode to Yan 'an". Zheng Lvcheng lived and fought in Yan 'an from 1937 to 1942. Many people who once worked with him said: "If the singing of the masses is like a fire, then Zheng Lvcheng is a fire. Wherever he goes, the fire-like singing burst out." During his stay in Yan 'an, he heard and witnessed many heroic deeds: the Autumn Harvest Uprising, the Jinggangshan Achievements, the Zunyi Conference, the 25,000-mile Long March, climbing snow-capped mountains and crossing grasslands, the Eighth Route Army and the New Fourth Army opening up base areas behind enemy lines... These inspired the young Zheng Lucheng and became the food for his musical creation. Under the influence of "Yellow River Cantata" written by musician Xian Xinghai, he collaborated with Gongmu to write "Eighth Route Army Cantata", incorporating his love for the People's Army into the music. The "March of the Eighth Route Army" in the chorus was later renamed "March of the People's Liberation Army of China." When New China was founded in 1949, this famous song echoed over Tiananmen Square at the grand founding ceremony. Later, it was identified as the military song of the People's Liberation Army of China. After the founding of New China, Zheng Lucheng traveled all over the land of China, looking for new creative materials everywhere. By the time he died of illness on December 7, 1976, he left more than 300 popular songs for people. The military songs of two countries in the world were written by my country's famous composer Zheng Lvcheng. He wrote both "March of the People's Liberation Army of China" and "March of the Korean People's Army."
