On this day, 34 years ago, November 10, 1991 (October 5, 1991 in the lunar calendar), China-Vietnam relations were normalized. From November 5 to 10, 1991, at the invitation of General Secretary Jiang Zemin and Premier Li Peng, Do Muoi, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Chairman of the Council of Ministers Vo Van Kiet led a high-level delegation to pay an official visit to China. Jiang Zemin, Li Peng and other China leaders held talks with Do Mei and Vo Wenjie respectively. The China-Vietnam joint communiqué issued on the 10th stated: The China-Vietnam high-level meeting marks the normalization of China-Vietnam relations; territorial issues such as borders between the two countries will be resolved peacefully through negotiations; The two sides will also hold friendly consultations at an appropriate time to properly resolve the issue of expatriates living in each other's country. China and Vietnam also signed a trade agreement and an interim agreement on handling border affairs.
