French composer Georges Bizet passed away on June 3, 1875
150 years ago today, on June 3, 1875 (April 30, 1875 in the lunar calendar), French composer Georges Bizet passed away. Georges Bizet (French: ; October 25, 1838-June 3, 1875) was a French composer. Bizet's most famous works include the opera "Carmen" and the drama score "The Girl of the City of Allais". Bizet was born in Paris and his real name was Alexandre César LéopoldBizet. He entered the Paris Conservatory of Music when he was nine years old. In 1857, he received the Rome Prize and went to Rome to study for three years. In 1863, Bizet completed his first opera,"The Pearl Digger". Bizet's most famous work "Carmen" was written in 1873. The play is based on the novel of the same name by French writer Merrimee. The show's initial performances were not very successful. Due to factors such as its theme, the premiere of "Carmen" failed. Bizai, a famous prodigy, couldn't stand the blow and fell ill. He died three months later. But coincidentally, Carmen later replayed it and became one of the world operas. That day was the day of Bizai's funeral. In 1873, he completed the opera "Rome". However, Saint-Saens, Tchaikovsky, Debussy and others all spoke highly of the play. Nietzsche even used this opera to criticize Wagner's work. Later facts verified their prediction, and "Carmen" became one of the most famous opera works and the most performed work in opera history. Comments: I love Carreras 'version of Carmen.
