Born in a dilapidated aristocratic family in the city of Ajaccio, Corsica. He graduated from the Military Academy of Brienne and later studied at the Military Academy in Paris. In 1785, he was appointed second lieutenant in the artillery. Influenced by the Enlightenment, he participated in the French Revolution. Served as an artillery captain during the Jacobin dictatorship. In 1793, he commanded the Battle of Toulon brilliantly, defeated the royal army, and was awarded the title of Major General. During the Kuomintang period, he was once arrested due to his close ties with the Jacobins. In October 1795, he served as commander of the French army to suppress the rebellion of the Royal Party Army. In 1796, he led the army to attack Italy and in 1798 invaded Egypt. Returned to China in 1799. He launched a coup d'état (November 9, 18th Brugmonth in the New Republic Calendar), established a ruling government, and appointed himself as the first in power. In 1804, he proclaimed himself emperor and established the First French Empire. Promulgate civil law (i.e., the Code of Napoleon), commercial law and criminal law to consolidate the achievements of the bourgeois revolution. Internally, it suppressed the restoration of the Royal Party; externally, it smashed the anti-French alliance many times and severely dealt a blow to the feudal forces in Europe. Later, he gradually invaded and expanded abroad and competed for hegemony with Britain and Russia. The 1812 War against Russia failed. In 1814, the anti-French coalition forces captured Paris and was exiled to the island of Elba. He returned to Paris in 1815 and established the Hundred Days Dynasty. After losing the Battle of Waterloo, he was exiled to St. Helena. He died of illness on the island in 1821.?
