On June 30, 2013 (May 23, 2013 in the lunar calendar), Wang Suyi, former director of the United Front Work Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous District Committee, was investigated. On June 30, 2013, Wang Suyi, former member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and former Minister of the United Front Work Department of the District Party Committee, was investigated on suspicion of serious violations of discipline. On July 17, 2014, Wang Suyi was sentenced to life imprisonment, deprivation of political rights for life, and confiscation of all personal property. Wang Suyi made it clear that he would not appeal.
