On this day, 44 years ago, August 30, 1981 (August 2, 1981 in the lunar calendar), Iranian President Rajej was killed in an explosion. Rajai (1933~1981) Mohammed Ali Rajai, former President of Iran. Born into a religious family in the city of Qazvin. Graduated from Tehran Teachers College in 1959, and later taught in Tehran and Qazvin. From 1963 to 1979, he was imprisoned several times for participating in political activities. After Khomeini came to power, he served as Minister of Education. Elected to the Islamic Parliament in 1980. In August of the same year, he served as Prime Minister and Foreign Minister. In July 1981, he was elected as the second president of Iran. On August 30 of the same year, he was killed in an explosion at the Prime Minister's Office.
