On March 5, 1956, Luo Ruiqing, the police chief of Red China, appeared on the cover of Time magazine. Luo Ruiqing was a famous revolutionary and military strategist in my country. He was born on May 31, 1906 in Nanchong County, Sichuan Province to a declining landlord family. With the support of her grandfather, Luo Ruiqing went to school. In middle school, he began to be exposed to advanced ideas, but he was firmly opposed by his family. His grandfather wanted to shape Luo Ruiqing according to his own wishes, so he made a "three rules" and asked him to read books in accordance with the rules, not to read books that advocated "heresy", and not to participate in party activities, otherwise he would not continue to provide him with education. However, Luo Ruiqing was very competitive since childhood and had a chivalrous air. Despite his grandfather's ban, he actively participated in the struggle against "tenants and donations" launched by teachers and students of Nanchong Middle School. Later, he joined the soldier's movement and the workers 'movement with his progressive classmates, and served as a teacher at the workers' night school. From then on, his grandfather cut off financial support for him. However, Luo Ruiqing, who was only 20 years old, did not succumb to the pressure from her family. She resolutely joined the Communist Youth League and was admitted to the Wuhan Branch of Whampoa Military Academy. From then on, she began her military career. After the founding of New China, Luo Ruiqing served as the first Minister of Public Security, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Chief of Staff of the People's Liberation Army. Although he holds a high position, he never enjoys privileges. When he was the Minister of Public Security, he and two accompanying comrades once went to the railway station to pick up guests. Because it was late, the accompanying comrades had no time to buy platform tickets, so they led Luo Ruiqing directly to the ticket gate. He only said to the ticket inspector,"We are from the Ministry of Public Security, here to pick up guests," and entered the station. On the way back, Luo Ruiqing remembered the scene of picking up passengers at the station and suddenly asked: "Have you bought a platform ticket when you enter the station?" A comrade accompanying him shook his head. After sending the guests to the residence, Luo Ruiqing said to the accompanying comrade: "Now go to the station immediately and pay for the three platform tickets! After the defeat of the Gang of Four, Luo Ruiqing was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission and Secretary-General of the Military Commission. Although he was over seventy years old and had a disabled leg at that time, he still insisted on going deep into the army and inspecting national defense fortifications. Some tunnels could not be reached by a wheelchair, so he walked with a walking stick.
