On this day, 93 years ago, October 2, 1932 (September 3, 1932, the investigation report on the September 18th Incident was published. On October 2, 1932, the report of the League of Nations investigation team to China on the September 18th Incident was published. The document is officially called the "League of Nations Investigation Report". Since the head of the investigation was Lytton, the former acting British governor of India, it is commonly known as the Lytton Report. In December 1931, a group was formed. The members included Lieutenant General Klaut of France, Count Makdi of Italy, Dr. Heeney of Germany, Major General McCoy of the United States, etc. He came to China in March 1932, arrived in Shenyang for investigation in April, and submitted an investigation document to the League of Nations and the governments of China and Japan in September, which was officially published on October 2. The report consists of 10 chapters. The main contents are: respecting Japan's interests in Manchuria (Northeast China) and allowing it to occupy it; not recognizing the independence of the puppet "Manchuria", but as a part of China, allowing it to have autonomy; advocating "international co-management" of Northeast China. The report shows that Japan is still not satisfied with the appeasement stance of Britain, the United States and other countries condoning Japan's aggression in order to share their interests in the Northeast region. Japan submitted a rebuttal document to the League of Nations. The League of Nations formed a 19-nation committee to review the Lytton inquiry and, after debate, adopted a resolution. It not only stated that there was no need to restore the original status of "Manchukuo", but also refused to recognize the puppet "Manchukuo." In February 1933, the League of Nations voted to adopt the above resolution. Japan announced its withdrawal from the League of Nations in March of the same year.
