Birth of British economist Alfred Marshall

Alfred Marshall
Alfred Marshall (1842-1924) was the most famous economist in modern Britain, the founder of the Neoclassical School, and the most important figure in British economics in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Thanks to Marshall's efforts, economics has developed from being just a required course in humanities and history to an independent discipline with a scientific nature similar to physics. Under his influence, Cambridge University established the world's first economics department.
Main writings
Marshall was very focused on mathematics, but he also worked very hard to promote his work to the general public. His 1879 book "Industry and Trade" was widely circulated and studied in Britain. After that, he spent 10 years writing "Principles of Economics", which was published in 1890. This book is considered Marshall's greatest book. He elaborated on the equilibrium price theory, combining the traditional production cost theory, supply and demand theory with the marginal utility theory, and proposed demand price, demand law, demand curve, supply price, supply law, supply curve, marginal utility, and marginal production cost consumption concepts such as surplus analyze the short-term equilibrium and long-term equilibrium of balanced prices.
Marshall's main writings include: "Comments on Jevons","Pure Theory of Foreign Trade and Pure Theory of Domestic Value","Industrial Economics","The Current Situation of Political Economy: Inaugural Address at Cambridge University in February 1885, Journal of the Statistical Society, Marshall's Official Collection,"On Mr. Mu's Value Theory","Where the London Poor Return","Remedies for General Price Fluctuations","Principles of Economics","Essence of Economics","About Rent","Old Generation Economists and New Generation Economists","Distribution and Exchange","Request to Create a Branch Course in Economics and Related Political Science","The Social Possibilities of the Economic Knight Spirit","National Taxation after the War","Industry and Trade","Alfred Marshall Memorial Collection" and so on.
