On this day, 132 years ago, on August 1, 1893 (June 20, 1893 in the lunar calendar), China veterinarian Gao Guojing was born. Gao Guojing, also known as Gao Haojing, was born in Changzhi County, Shanxi Province. He was born on August 1, 1893 in a family of Chinese veterinary doctors and was the eighth generation heir to his ancestors. He went to school at the age of 6, attended private school at the age of 15, and practiced medicine with his father at the age of 19. Because he studied hard and was enthusiastic about treating livestock, he became famous in the village at the age of 25, and his medical skills were outstanding at the age of 40. In 1945, after the Battle of Shangdang started, Gao Guojing followed the troops led by General Chen Geng to treat horse bullet injuries, saddle injuries and other diseases, and was awarded a commendation from the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army. In 1947, the Agricultural College of Northern University (later renamed North China University) was established in Changzhi, an old revolutionary base area. He was hired to teach Chinese veterinary medicine and participated in the agricultural research laboratory. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Gao Guojing moved to Beijing after the Agricultural College was merged into Beijing Agricultural University. Because of his rigorous academic studies and sound teaching, he has won the heartfelt love of the majority of students. Gao Guojing trained more than 3000 Chinese veterinary talents in his life. In 1950, he was hired by the Ministry of Agriculture as a professor at Beijing Agricultural University. In 1958, he was transferred to the Institute of Traditional Veterinary Medicine of China Academy of Agricultural Sciences as deputy director. In 1959,"Chinese Veterinary Acupuncture and Moxibustion", which participated in the editing and review, was published by Agricultural Press. In 1963, Gao Guojing was old and frail, coupled with overwork, which caused hypertension to become increasingly serious. While he was seriously ill and bedridden, he was still carefully revising the first episode of "Chinese Veterinary Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment Experience". He passed away on March 29, 1964 at the age of 71. News raw data sources → https://www.abtool.cn/today_detail/1k37.html 17WorldNews[2025.09.27-13:57] 访问:79
